Obituary Loretta J. Stachnik, 90, of Washington, formerly of Burbank, IL, departed at 1:07am, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Loretta was born on May 19, 1923 in Chicago to Joseph and Stella Letwicka Czopek. She married Walter "Val" Stachnik February 8, 1947 in Chicago; he preceded her in death February 1, 1980. Surviving is one son, Ken (Jeanne) Stachnik of Washington; grandsons, Kevin (Karen) Stachnik and Jeff (Casey) Stachnik; and great-grandson, Aaron Stachnik. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. There will be family services held in Chicago. Inurnment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Midwest Affiliate or to a charity of the donor's choice.
