Obituary PEKINa"Lois A. Tharp, 78, of Pekin, IL, died at 7:05 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at her residence. Born on February 23, 1928 in Kankakee, IL, to Edward and Myrtle Robin Hanscomb, she married Donald A. Tharp, Sr. on June 14, 1947 in Pekin, IL. He survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Donald (Diane) Tharp, Jr. of Sheboygan, WI, and Stephen (Sarilee) Tharp of Peoria; 2 daughters, Cathy (Rick) Wegman of Ft. Myers, FL and Cheryl (Dwayne) Cole of Leonardtown, MD; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother and 1 granddaughter. She was an accountant for WEEK-TV Channel 25 for 26 years, and retired from Pekin Park District as an accountant. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin and was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary VFW Post 1232 in Pekin. A memorial service will at 11 AM on Monday, June 12, 2006, at Deiters Funeral Home at 444 E. Washington Street in East Peoria. The Rev. Randy Justice will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment of cremated remains will be at Glendale Memory Gardens in Pekin.
