Obituary EAST PEORIAa"Lois A. Giebelhausen, 72, of East Peoria, died at 12:15 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2006, at her residence. Born on January 31, 1934 in Havana, IL to Otis O. and Orlana Williams Smith, she married Elmer R. Giebelhausen on August 27, 1955 in Pekin, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years on December 1, 1994. Surviving are 5 children, Rick (Linda ) Giebelhausen, Veralyn Harr, Teri (Larry) Warren, David (Julie) Giebelhausen, and Jeff (Lori) Giebelhausen, all of East Peoria; 12 grandchildren, Derek (Jenni) Schulze of Pekin, IL, Jana (Fiancee Scott Wilson) Schulze of Catlin, IL, Mike and Brian Giebelhausen, both of East Peoria, Tara (Zach) Oyler of East Peoria, Matt(Ashley) Warren of Tucson, AZ, and Nate, Dave, and Joe Warren, all of East Peoria, and Tyler, Kylie and Cody Giebelhausen, all of East Peoria; 1 brother, Jack Smith of Peoria; and 2 sisters, Sally (Ted) Jackson of Havana, IL and Alta (Jess) Hackett of East Peoria. She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Dawnie List and 1 brother, Richard "Dick" Smith. She graduated from Havana High School in 1952, and later graduated from the Saint Francis School of Nursing. She served as a registered nurse at St. Francis where she retired from in 1981. She was a past member of the VFW Post 2078 Auxiliary. After retiring from nursing, she was a homemaker, especially enjoying family gatherings and time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in the yard. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday August 25, 2006, at Deiters Funeral Home at 444 E. Washington Street in East Peoria.
