Obituary MORTONa"Lloyd F. Stuber, 81, of Morton, formerly of East Peoria, died at 9:45 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at his residence. He was born on December 31, 1928 in Ottumwa, IA, to Lloyd and Bertha Kotar Stuber. His father passed away before his birth. His mother later married Clem Blum, who raised Lloyd. Lloyd married Hannah Larke on July 28, 1957 at the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Juliana (Kevin) Honegger of Bolingbrook, Lloyd T. (Julie) Stuber of Hoffman Estates, and Elizabeth (Leroy) Eaker of East Peoria; 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Matthew and Alexander Honegger, and Jacob and Lauren Eaker; 1 great grandchild, Kemper Eaker; and his brother, Gene (Pat) Blum of East Peoria. Lloyd was a graduate of East Peoria High School where he later served as president of the Booster Club. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Education from Bradley University. Lloyd was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a retail furniture store owner in the Peoria-area for many years, and was a member of the East Peoria Optimists Club and the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. Lloyd also was a Mega-Blood Donor for the Red Cross. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday, January 4, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. The memorial service will be private.
