Obituary
Linda Gail Lavaux, died at 6:00 pm on August 26, 2012. The world lost the most beautiful, caring, devoted, faith filled and loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and woman we will ever get the pleasure of knowing when she went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Born on September 14, 1955 in Peoria, IL, to Howard and Marjorie Wettstein Nelson, she married Rick L. Lavaux on February 13, 1987 in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Marjorie Glover of Washington, IL, 2 daughters, Carey (Max) Boelter of Colorado Springs, CO, and Whitney Lavaux of Los Angeles, CA, 1 granddaughter, Chloe Boelter, 1 brother, Curtis (Cathy) Nelson of Highlands Ranch, CO, 3 sisters, Catherine (Tim) Toth of Warrenville, IL, Candice Glover of Oak Park, IL, and Cindy Boyd of Stuart, FL, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Abby.
She was preceded in death by her father, her stepfather, David Glover, and her son, Branden.
Linda worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for over 30 years, retiring on February 1, 2010 as the Project Manager for HR Systems. She was an active and devoted member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington.
Linda was a Bradley University alumni and devoted Braves fan, Chicago Cubs fan, and WCHS Panther fan. Linda's desire is for everyone to wear their favorite Braves red, Cubbie blue, or Panther orange and black to her services.
A celebration of life for Linda will be at 10 am Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. Pastor Tom Goodell will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday, August 31, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Linda's family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support, especially Illinois Cancer Care and 1700 Forest Park at OSF St. Francis.
