Linda Ann Buchanan Cripe 64, of East Peoria, passed away at 2:00pm Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Accolade at Riverview Nursing Home.

She was born October 16, 1957 in Peoria to Carl R. and Juanita M. Waughop Buchanan. She married Lynn D. Cripe on April 16, 1984 in Las Vegas.

Surviving is her husband, Lynn; their children, Michelle (Christopher) Strom and Nicholas (Megan) Cripe; grandchildren, Norah, Parker, and Madelyn; her parents, Carl and Juanita; and her brother, Richard (Sharon) Buchanan.

Linda attended East Peoria High School and worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 10 years as an Administrative Assistant.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed being active at her kids' schools, in the church and choir, music, and crafting. Because nature and animals had a special place in her heart, she spent time working at the greenhouse, enjoying her garden or the beach, and volunteering at the animal shelter. Linda found joy in the big and small moments of life, in being with and caring for her family, and especially in spending time with her grandkids.

A celebration of life will be announced in the coming weeks. Inurnment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded by Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter or the Alzheimer's Association.
