Linda K. Baker, 69, of Washington, passed away at 11:30pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 13, 1952 in Sacramento, CA to the late Jack and Janet Nettles Allen. She married Michael Baker on July 24, 1971 in Brighton, IL.
Surviving is her husband Mike, of Washington; their sons, Bob (Amanda) Baker of Bartonville and Mike (Becky) Baker of East Peoria; grandsons, Colton, Bryce, and Austin; and her three siblings, Steven Allen and Sheri Blackburn, both of Kingsbury, TX, and Diana (Daymond) Speed of San Antonio, TX.
Linda worked at Morton K-Mart from 1982-2016, working last in the cash cage. She grew up in a military family, and for a time, the family was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, where she would meet her husband. They enjoyed raising their family, spending time with their grandkids, and fishing together. Over the years, Linda was a USBC bowler and coach, bowling regularly at Plaza Lanes in Washington. She was loyal to her St. Louis Cardinals and was a Kenny Rogers fan.
The family will receive friends from 3:30-5:30pm on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A funeral service will begin at 5:30pm on Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Craig Hislope officiating. Inurnment will take place later at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Illinois CancerCare or UnityPoint Hospice.
