Obituary
WASHINGTON - Lincoln Chester "Link" Troxell, 81, of Washington, IL died at 7:41 pm Monday December 14, 2009 at his home.
Born on July 23, 1928 in Ashland, IL to Charles Virgil and Ollie West Troxell, he married Kazue "Lily" Sasaoka on November 2, 1951 in Tokyo, Japan. She survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Richard (Rebecca) Troxell of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Lee (Pat) Troxell of Pekin, IL, 3 daughters, Barbara (Michael) Stinson of East Peoria, IL, Cynthia (John) Lovelace of Kyle, TX, and Robin Sasaoka (Paul Sessler) of Portland, OR, 1 sister, Shirley (Steve) Session of Spring Bay, IL, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.
Lincoln was a US Air Force Veteran, where he worked in the Communication Service for 20 years. He then worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. as a Machinist for 22 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #100 in Washington and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2078 in East Peoria, volunteering at both. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
A memorial service will be at 6 pm Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Rev. Linda McKinney will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-6 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force following the services. A graveside service will be at 11 am Friday, December 18, 2009 at Bethel Cemetery in Pleasant Plains, IL.
