Obituary

Lincoln Emilé Ioerger Holmes, 29, of Galesburg, formerly of Normal, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 9, 2026 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

Lincoln was born July 8, 1996 in Normal to Louis B. Holmes and Maryl (Ioerger) Salisbury.

She is survived by her mother, Maryl, of Washington; her siblings, Melanie Salisbury of Gulfport, MS, Madison (Pat) Fox of Washington, and Lowell Holmes of Georgia; her nephews and niece, Greyson, Leighton, Edsel, and Oliver; and her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Gladys and Virgil Ioerger and Estella Clay; and uncle and aunt, Daryl and Cheryl Ioerger.

She grew up in Bloomington-Normal, attended Unit 5 Schools, and had lived at Allure of Galesburg for the last year, where she felt at home. Lincoln enjoyed music and creating art. She was a social butterfly, who was unintentionally funny and had a surprisingly quick wit. She was very generous and loved her family, especially her niece and nephews. Lincoln lived life on her own terms and outside of the box. She was a true wildflower, a free spirit who grew independently and resisted conformity thriving in all the places people thought she never would. Lincoln endured many challenges in her life and is now safe and at peace.

A private gathering to honor her life will be held in July. Inurnment will be at Minonk Township Cemetery.
