Obituary
WASHINGTON - Lillian I. Liter, 77, of Washington, IL, died at 4:57 pm Thursday, September 11, 2008 at her home. Born on June 11, 1931 in Clarinda, IA, to William A. and Elizabeth A. Turner Hyde, she married Robert T. Liter on March 4, 1950 in Des Moines, IA. He survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Martie (Jerry) Ogborn of Mackinaw, IL and Jeannie (Chuck) Joplin of Mapleton, IL, 2 sons, Jeff (Jackie) Liter of Eden Prairie, MN and Ron (Linda) Liter of Maple Grove, MN, 1 sister, Phyllis Manning of Des Moines, IA, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Gwyn Hyde and 1 sister, Jeanne Herbner. Lillian was a seamstress. She also was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington, where she was in the choir and taught Sunday school. She also was a member of the chorus for the Peoria Players production of My Fair Lady. Services will be at 6:30 pm Monday, September 15, 2008 at Faith Lutheran Church in Washington. Pastor John Rothfusz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-6:30 pm Monday at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Deiters Funeral Home in Washington is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Lyme Disease Foundation, PO Box 332, Tolland, CT 06084-0332.
