Obituary Lila Lee Mistic, 86, of East Peoria, formerly of Canton passed away peacefully at 1:26am, Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Bickford Cottage in Peoria. Lila was born May 14, 1928 in Cuba, IL to Raymond E. and Glenna Julliar Pyle. She married Frank D. Mistic on August 31, 1945 in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2009 after 64 years of marriage. Surviving are their children, Pat (Mick) Davis of Germantown Hills, Mark Mistic, of East Peoria, Dan (Helen) Mistic of Roland, AR, and Jim (Tina) Mistic of Canton; grandchildren, Dawn Burroughs, Roger Roemer, Stormi Davis, Suzy Lewellen, Alyssa Marks, Jesse Mistic and Amanda Wedig; step-grandchildren, Cory and Kyle Dirksen; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Vivian Decker of West LaFayette, IN; and ten nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters. Lila was a homemaker and her family was the center of her heart. She worked part time at the Chicago Motor Club in Canton. She loved music all her life, and she and her sisters sang in a trio for the USO at the end of World War II. Traveling and learning new things gave her joy, and she attended many classes Spoon River College. Her hobbies were reading, crossword puzzles, and crewel stitching. For 19 years, she fought a valiant battle with the horrible thief, Alzheimer's. Her presence will be greatly missed by her family. A celebration of Lila's life will be held Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 5:30pm, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Canton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
