Lien David Anderson

Lien David Anderson (Nguyen Ngọc Lièn), 78, of East Peoria, passed away at 7:39pm Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. Lien was born August 17, 1948 in Saigon, Vietnam to Dinh Dac lu and Nguyen Thi Mai, the youngest of 14 children. He married his wife, Linda (Son Thi Tuyet) on November 25, 1969 in Saigon. Surviving is his wife, Linda of East Peoria; their children, Tony Anderson of Washington, Becki (Kent) Kupferschmid of Washington, Christopher Anderson (Kati Chan) of Plano, TX, and Tina Le of Bloomington; grandchildren, Erika (Drew) Taphorn, Blake (Tenley) Anderson, Zachary Anderson, Tessa Kupferschmid, Kai Anderson, Kirin Anderson, and Kayla Le; and five great-grandchildren, Kainen, Jairus, Elijah, Selah, and Johana Taphorn.He was preceded in death by his parents during his childhood; his thirteen siblings; and a son, Larry Anderson. Lien and his family immigrated to Peoria in 1975 and he was hired at Methodist Hospital, where he worked until retirement in 2012 after 37 years. He was an electrician by trade, earning an associates degree from ICC and many professional certifications. He enjoyed work and loved using his skills to help others. Retirement came earlier than he would have liked, but it allowed him to dedicate those years to his grandchildren and traveling with Linda. He was able to make an impact on his grandchildren's lives, support his children, and visit relatives abroad with this time. Lien leaves a legacy of determination, strong work ethic, and generosity behind. Visitation will be from noon-2:00pm on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A funeral service will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday at the funeral home, where Lien's life story will be shared alongside the rites of his faith. Inurnment will be at Quam Nam Temple in East Moline.
