Obituary Lewis "Joe" Wenzel Jr., 65, of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 7:45P.M. at Washington Christian Village in Washington. Joe was born on May 12, 1950 in Peoria to Lewis J. Sr. and Anna Loretta Burke Wenzel. They preceded him in death along with his sister, Janet M. Wenzel. He is survived by his cousin and caretaker, Kathleen Cramblett of East Peoria and several other cousins. Joe worked for 30 years as a Material Requirements Analyst at Caterpillar in Mossville, before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Mossville Engine Golf League. Memorial contributions may be made to OSF Hospice or to St. Monica's Catholic Church, where he was a longtime member. A Funeral Mass for Joe will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria with a half hour visitation prior to the mass. Father Julius Turyatoranwa will officiate. There will be a visitation on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 4:00PM-6:00PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A prayer service will be held on Monday at 3:45P.M. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Peoria.
