Obituary East Peoria - Lester R. Knight, 81, of East Peoria, died at 5:40 AM on Thursday August 22, 2013 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on September 8, 1931 in Vermillion County, Illinois to Lester Ray and Amanda Wright Knight. He married Virginia M. Culp on March 26, 1951 in Westville, IL. She survives. Also surviving are one son; Lester H. (Lisa) Knight of Norfolk, VA, two grandchildren; Thomas and Lester J., two sisters; Fanchon L. Irwin and Dora Irene Rich, both of Mesa, AZ, two brothers; Clyde W. (Freida) Knight of East Peoria, IL and Paul K. (Pat) Knight of Mahomet, IL, two sisters-in-law; Caroline Unkraut and Jane Culp and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Fanchon Leone Knight, his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Lester was a real estate investor, broker, and appraiser. He was also a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria as well as Monsignor E.L. Grzybowski 7580 Knights of Columbus in East Peoria. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass for Lester will be at 10 AM Monday, August 26, 2013 at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria followed by inurnment. Father John Steffen will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care and support of the staff at OSF Richard L.
