Lester "Les" Belsly, 67, of Washington, passed away at 5:05pm Friday, December 8, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born April 15, 1956 in Peoria to Willard Lee and Dorothy Elizabeth Blumenshine Belsly.  He married Patricia A. Mitchell in Peoria on May 27, 1977.  She survives.

Also surviving are daughter, Jennifer (Andrew) Murphy; son, Michael J. Belsly; granddaughter, Alexis Murphy; several nieces and nephews; and his four legged companions, Penny and Poppy.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patricia Bolton, Ellamae Renken; and two brothers, Michael and Howard Belsly.

Les worked as an electrical contractor with IBEW Local 51 before retiring.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles, and just loved the outdoors.

Private services will be held.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to TAPS No Kill Animal Shelter in Pekin.
