Obituary Leroy Albert Cruse, 79, of Hanna City, passed away at 10:50am, Friday, July 4, 2014 at Unity Point Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Leroy was born July 29, 1934 in Peoria to Donald L. and Bernice L. Shaw Cruse. He was raised by his mother and step-father, John Arthur Grigsby. He married Wilma J. Redenius on January 30, 1953. He is survived by his children, Brenda Lee (William) Thomas of Washington, Daniel Wayne (Carol) Cruse of Glasford, Deborah Kay (John) Bozsoki of Farmington, and Mary Etta (Bart) Phillips of Hanna City; grandchildren, William (Dana) Thomas of Morton, Tiffany (Casson) White of East Peoria, Tonya Chandler of Canton, Dana Cruse of Peoria, Ashley Walker of Canton, Danielle Cruse of Peoria, Jason (Sarah) Reed of Davis Junction, Kevin (Katie) Reed of Denver, CO, Kristin (Jesse) Huff of N. Liberty, IA, Derek Look of Bartonville, Michael A. Cruse of Michigan, Leigh (Seth) Whitmer of Collinsville, and Beth Phillips of Peoria; 11 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way; brother, Gerald G. (Judith) Cruse of Bartonville; and several nieces and nephews. His wife; daughter, Wilma J. Look; brother, Donald M. Cruse, and parents preceded him in death. Leroy was devoted to his family. He was an avid motorcyclist, Cubs fan, and loved touring the west. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded by Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research, Midwest Affiliate.
