Obituary

Leonard S. "Len" Pamson, 65, of Washington, passed away at 11:04 pm Thursday, January 20, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born May 31, 1956, in Peoria to Leonard and Billie (Walters) Pamson. He married Pamela J. Dunton on April 26, 1975, in Spring Bay. She survives.

Also surviving are five children, Jennifer (Tim) Van Autreve, Jessie (Chris) Grieves, Lenny (Timika) Pamson Jr., Jacqueline (Kendon) Bahr, James Pamson; 13 grandchildren, Nolan, Nora, Max, Lexi, Megan, Paige, Ethan, Aurora, Lucas, Isaac, Leo, Mila, Bentley, and one on the way; one brother, Phil (Nancy) Pamson; two sisters, Sandy Hill and Brenda Pamson; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brother(s)-in-law, John "Yank" Yankevich, and Jim Hill.

Len retired from Caterpillar Inc. where he worked for over 40 years before taking a position as a Lead Programmer for Yash Technologies. In 1996 Len obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Management degree from University of Illinois at Springfield.

Len had several hobbies and talents. He enjoyed playing softball and coordinated the Sunday afternoon men's softball league in Washington for over 20 years. He instilled his love of sports in his children and grandchildren and coached many of their own sports teams over the years. Len loved trivia and music; his collection of rock memorabilia is immense. Music wasn't the only art form Len enjoyed; he was very talented with drawing and painting landscapes. He was an avid reader, and history buff. Len was known for his humor and quick wit that could bring about a laugh even in the most somber of circumstances. His family was his life, he will be dearly missed.
