Obituary Leona "Nonie" Eller, 83, of Washington, passed away at 10:45am, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at her home. Nonie was born August 24, 1930 in Patoka to George Washington and Leatha Richards Bowen. She married Joseph S. Eller on November 26, 1948 in Morgansfield, KY. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2012. Surviving is their son, Ronald J. (Sally) Eller of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Kimberly (Steve) Martin and Ty (Naomi) Eller, both of Washington; great-grandchildren, Alex and Alyssa Martin, and Rose Eller; siblings, Ken Bowen, Frieda Chasteen, and Kathy Smith. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Vikki Eller; 7siblings, Dean, Clifton, Albert, and Wesley Bowen, and Mamie Doane, Mildred Adams, and Edie Howeler; and her parents. Nonie's joy was her family; she loved attending any events with them when she could. Her specialty was baking apple pies and peach cobblers, always sampling a piece before sharing them. She was also a talented seamstress, sewing clothing for herself and others. She was very positive and uplifting person who always saw the good in a situation. She will be greatly missed. A family gathering will be held in celebration of Nonie's life at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded, and Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, Washington, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
