Obituary

Leo "Lee" T. Delinger, 88, of Washington, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born December 7, 1936 in Davenport, Iowa to the late Ralph and Mary (Connelly) Delinger.  Lee was a US Army veteran, who met Gloria Brown, a Red Cross nurse and his wife to be, while serving as an Army medical corpsman at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  They were married in Silver Spring, Maryland on September 29, 1962.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kevin (Sarah) Delinger of College Park, Maryland, Scott (Vicki) Delinger of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; one granddaughter, Katie Delinger, also of Edmonton; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his seven siblings and parents.

Lee retired from Caterpillar Inc. with over 30 years of service.

He was a member of Crossroads Global Methodist Church in Washington.  He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  He will be dearly missed.

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded.  Private memorial services will be held at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or TAPS no-kill animal shelter in Pekin.
