Obituary WASHINGTON - Leo P. Grant, Sr., 70, of Washington, died at 6:48 am Monday, August 6, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on March 14, 1937 in Peoria, IL to Con and Grace Tyson Grant, he married Wilma J. Vaughn on September 7, 1956 in Peoria, IL. She survives. Also surviving are 1 daughter, Holly (Ray) DeCroix of Germantown Hills, IL and 1 son Leo (Jannette) Grant Jr. of Bloomington, IL 1 brother, Robert (Phyllis) Grant of Ft. Myers, FL and 1 sister Suzanne (Rod) Perkins of Pekin, IL, 5 grandchildren, Andrea DeCroix, Alex (Jessi) DeCroix, Katherine Grant, John Grant and Joe Grant. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother. Leo worked as a Machinist at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington and also coached baseball for NTRA for many years. Services will be at 11 am on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church in Washington. The Rev. John Rothfusz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Additional visitation will be from 10-11 am Thursday at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services and burial of cremains will be at a later date at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. Memorials may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund or to the Oncology-Hematology Associates Memorial Fund.
