Obituary Washington - Lela M. "Lee" Cole, 82, of Washington died at 12:10 PM on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Riverview Healthcare in East Peoria. She was born on October 24, 1931 in Iuka, IL to William A. and Lela H. Schlosser Fulton. They, as well as step-father Glen Adkison, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter Sherry McDaniel. She married Robert McDaniel in 1949 in Petersburg, Illinois. She later married William Cole on December 16, 1961 in St. Joseph, Michigan. He survives and resides in Washington. Also surviving are two daughters, Janice (Bill) Watts of Washington and Catherine (David) Loy of East Peoria, four grandchildren, Angela Merrill, Jason Watts, Nick Ogborn and Elizabeth Watts, two great-grandchildren, Alan Merrill and Logan Watts, three brothers, Donald (Leisa) Fulton of Yakima, WA, Phillip (Cindy) Adkison of Buchanan, MI and Michael Adkison of Livermore, CA. Lee worked in the deli at Kroger in Washington for fifteen years. She was a very talented artist, especially known for her beautiful water color art pieces that many members of the family proudly display in their homes. She also was an avid University of Illinois Basketball fan. She enjoyed being outdoors and loved to garden and spend time visiting with friends and family in the sun on the back deck. There will be a funeral for Lee on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 1 pm at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Bob DeBolt will officiate.
