Laurie Beal, 59, of East Peoria, passed away at 12:45am Sunday, August 7, 2022 at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born December 30, 1962, in Peoria to the late Jack and Judith Lambert Beal.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Del Rio; her sisters, Jackie Wagner, Mary Smith, Desi Kirkpatrick, and Jennifer Lamoreux; her step-mother Jackie Beal; and her precious fur babies - her German Shepherds, Karma and Josie.

Laurie graduated from ICC and went on to work for OSF Healthcare for over 30 years, where she made connections with patients and coworkers that she cherished. She was known professionally for her kindness and knowledge, and willingness to share both with others. She loved to travel and spend time in nature, and was an admirer of all animals, and she had a creative spirit and loved using her talent to explore arts and crafts. Her relationships with her family and friends meant the world to her.

A gathering to celebrate Laurie's life will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Raber Packing Co.'s event space. Family will receive friends from 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM, with first words and prayers starting at 1:00. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, Laurie and the family request that memorial contributions be made to your favorite animal shelter.
