Obituary
WASHINGTON - Laura Eloise Davis, 86, of Washington, IL died at 3:55 am Thursday, October 25, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on November 30, 1920 in Raleigh, IL to Louis and Gladys Cain Choisser, she married Ernest Davis on November 10, 1943 in Bloomington, IL. He died on February 22, 2002 in El Paso, IL. Surviving are 1 son, Ernest D. (Linda) Davis of Washington, IL, 2 daughters, Linda (Richard) Monk of Farmington, IL and Cindy (Mike) Byrd of Washington, IL, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Ronald in 2001, and 2 brothers. She worked for the Daily Pantagraph in Bloomington in the 1940's, and later was a piano teacher in Washington for a number of years. She also worked at the Back Porch Tea Room in Washington, and for Shirl's Home Health Care. She also played the piano at Washington Christian Village for many years. She was a member of the Washington Evening Garden Club. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington, where she played the piano and organ for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. Services will be at 10:30 am Monday, October 29, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. The Rev. John Hauck and Rev. Bob DeBolt will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek, IL.
