Obituary East Peoria - Larry H. James, 66, of East Peoria died at 10:53 AM on Saturday March 15, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. He was born on February 16, 1948 in Independence Co., Arkansas to Ewin H. and Verna W. Brogdon James. He married Kay Roloff in Peoria in September of 1966. He later married Darrilyn Denise Simpson-Boyles on May 23, 1987 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Sandy McCormick of Peoria, Cindy (Josh) James of Ottawa, Aaron (Alma Mindy) Boyles of Washington, Ian Boyles of East Peoria, and Evalynne Hollinshead-Boyles of Peoria, and eight grandchildren, Heaven, Vincent, Khialee, Kharalee, Kole, Wesley, Westin, and Mickeon. He was preceded in death by one brother Billy James, one step son Isaac Boyles and one grandson Kalen Boyles. Larry worked for Citylink in Peoria for 33 years as a driver. He retired in 2012. He was also a member of Amalgamated Transit Union. He and his wife Denise were the founders of James Gang Dancers a country line dance school which they ran for ten years. He loved motorcycles, especially his 1996 triumph, NASCAR, playing poker and was especially gifted with his hands, tinkering and building things. There will be a celebration of Larry's life on Thursday March 20, 2014 at 10 AM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Bob Martin will officiate. There will be a visitation Wednesday March 19, 2014 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to Easter Seals.
