Obituary EAST PEORIA-Larry Burd, 51, of East Peoria, IL died at 4:10 PM Tuesday December 27, 2011 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born on September 1, 1960 in Peoria to Logan and Martha Haney Burd Sr. Surviving are his mother, Martha of East Peoria; 1 sister, Becky Burd of Peoria; 1 brother, Charlie (Rhonda) Burd of Farmington; 4 nieces & nephews, Aaron (Ashley) Burd of Ellisville, MO, Sgt. Andy (Scherie) Burd of Ft. Leaonardwood, MO, Alaina (Nathan) Hamilton of Peoria, and Alyssa Burd of Farmington; and many other family and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father. Larry worked construction for Jerry DeBolt Masonry in Washington for 7 years until his accident in 1986. He loved NASCAR and was a Ryan Newman fan. He also enjoyed fishing in Wisconsin. Larry loved making people laugh and will be remembered for his bright smile and his "short man" jokes. He was a member of Roland Manor Baptist Church in Washington and a former member of Northern Tazewell Fire Department. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Pastor Steve Hardin will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Friday, December 30, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria.
