Obituary East Peoria - Larry E. Beck, 67, of East Peoria died Monday November 28, 2011 at 7:05 PM at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He was born February 11, 1944 in Mt. Vernon to Dewey M. and Nancy M. Ross Beck. He married Donna Dixon March 13, 1971 in Peoria, she survives. Also surviving are two sons; Brett Beck of Peoria and Michael Beck of Texas, one daughter Vanessa D'Amico of East Peoria, two grandchildren Daniel and Lily D'Amico, both of East Peoria, and one brother Louie Beck of North Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Dewey. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1965, where he was stationed in Peshawar, Pakistan and worked in intelligence. Larry was employed as a millwright at Caterpillar for several years. He then worked for the Illinois Department of Conservation at Jubilee State Park for four years. In 1983 he went to work for the Illinois Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2002. In his younger years, Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting. Later in life he became an avid billiards player and enjoyed spending time at the OTB. His family and grandkids brought him joy and happiness. He loved playing board games with his two grandchildren. A funeral service for Larry will be held at 2PM Thursday December 1, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Joe Meyer will officiate. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
