Kimberly Kay Bergquist, 57, of Washington, passed away at 1:15 pm Thursday June 22, 2023 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria

She was born to the late Donald A. and Judith A. Sommers Cusac on August 25, 1965 in Peoria. Kim married the love of her life Stephen M. Bergquist on May 2, 1987 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are her two daughters; Kourtney (Ryan) Grossman of Gilbert, AZ, and Katelyn (Michael) Walters of East Peoria; her sister; Jodi Nimmo of East Peoria; her step brother; Joseph Cusac of Hanna City; and her 3 grandsons; Maxwell Grossman and Lenox and Porter Walters.

Kim was a teacher's aide at St. Patrick School in Washington where she taught pre-K through 5th grade. She was lovingly known as "Mrs. B" to her many students and faculty. She had a passion for the kids and a deep faith that was perfect for the school. Kim had a memorial garden dedicated to her known as "Mrs. B's Garden". Kim was not only a dedicated teacher but an excellent host. She loved holidays and enjoyed being able to host extravagant events. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved spending time with her family. Kim was a loyal friend with a heart of gold. She never knew a stranger and always made sure those around her were happy.

There will be a visitation at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington from 4-7pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at St. Patrick Church in Washington, Fr. John Steffen will officiate.
