Kenneth "Kenny" W. Hise, 85, of Washington, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria.
He was born March 3, 1938 near Junction, IL, the son of Glen and Aundean (Paris) Hise, and he was raised on a farm near Ridgway, IL. He married Shirley Dowden-DeMolli in 1991 in Potomac, IL.
He graduated from Ridgway High School in 1955. He worked for Massey-Harris and Allis Chalmers in Springfield, and then to Caterpillar for 43 years, retiring in 2000 as a Senior Traffic Analyst.
He grew up in the Church of the Nazarene in Omaha, IL and was a member of Peoria First Nazarene, holding local and district offices.
Kenny loved Southern Gospel Music and from the early 1960s and late 1970s promoted many professional gospel groups in Peoria and the Quad Cities. For 55 years he attended the National Quartet Convention.
Surviving is his wife, Shirley; son, Philip (Michelle) Hise of Texas; step-kids, Ryan (Kristin) DeMolli of Wisconsin and Michaelle (Randy) Stirratt of Indiana; sister, Rita Hise of Oregon; brother, George (Carol) Hise of Illinois, and sister-in-law, Gatha (David) Coker of Illinois; grandchildren, Andrew and Katie Hise, Miles (Traci) Kirby, Eva Kirby, Benjamin and Nathan Weimer, Trevor (Paige) Stirratt, and Aaron and Corey Stirratt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret; brothers, Bertis and Eldon; and daughter, Becky Hise.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 2, 2024 at Eastside Bible Church in Morton. Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Additional visitation will be from 11:00am-12:45pm Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Vickery Funeral Chapel, Ridgway, with burial following at 1:00pm Jackson Cemetery, rural Ridgway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Gospel Music Trust PO Box 932 Brentwood, TN 37024.
