Ken Stachnik, 78, of Washington, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

He was born December 11, 1947 in Chicago to the late Walter and Loretta (Czopek) Stachnik.  He married Lois "Jeanne" Bair in Pekin on June 8, 1974 and celebrated over 50 years together.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kevin (Karen) Stachnik, Jeff (Casey) Stachnik; and one grandson, Aaron Stachnik.

Ken received his degree and spent more than 30 years as a pharmacist in the Peoria area before retiring.

He was a member of the Church of the Bretheren in Peoria where he was very involved in the snack pack program for local grade schools.  He loved to go to Disney World with his family on several occasions, sometimes taking his sons friends to enjoy the magic.  He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and was able to watch them win their playoff game Saturday evening.  He will be dearly missed.

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded.  There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his church.
