Obituary EAST PEORIA- Kenneth Wayne "Ken" Roberts, 82, of East Peoria passed away at 12:25 PM Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Manorcare at Riverview in East Peoria. Ken was born September 16, 1931 in Spring City, TN to Virgil S. and Rosa E. Kerley Roberts. He married Lorrie Auer in Peoria on May 2, 1981. She survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Linda (Fred) Joy and one son, Douglas (Janet) Roberts, both of San Antonio, TX; one stepdaughter, Sandy (Earl) Cochran of Germantown Hills; one stepson Dennis (Janet) Bishop of Hellertown, PA; two sisters, Irena (W.C.) Daniels and Mary Emma McCollister, both of Spring City, TN; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six step-grandchildren; and thirteen step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Brenda Kaye Roberts and Cindy Lou Roberts; and one brother, Robert Roberts. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company as a general foreman for 42 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Creve Coeur. A funeral service for Ken will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 1:00PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Dwight Winnett will officiate. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 11AM-1PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Creve Coeur.
