Obituary
Kenneth "Kenny" A. Perhay, 74, of Metamora, formerly of Washington, passed away at 4:40am Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at his home with his loving wife of 35 years by his side.
He was born October 9, 1942 in LaSalle, IL to Anton and Mary Erwin Perhay, who preceded him in death. He married Nancy Hysel on May 7, 1966. They had two children, Kip (Julie) Perhay of Peoria and Kimberly (Bill) Bleich of Melvin. He later married Michelle "Shelly" Vicary on May 15, 1982; she survives.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Hosanna, Justice, Mercy, Grace, Kerusso, Liberty, Patience, Ransom, Pierce, and Oliver Perhay; and Julia, Joshua, and Caleb Bleich; two brothers, William (JoAnn) Perhay of FL and Donald (Kathy) Perhay of Washington; and his sister-in-law, Jan Vicary of East Peoria.
Ken and Shelly shared many wonderful fishing adventures. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed his grandchildren and their sporting and musical events. Ken served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968, attaining the rank of Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He worked at the family business, Tony & Sons in Washington for over 50 years.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Monday March 13, 2017 at Resurrection Mausoleum, 7519 N. Allen Rd., Peoria. Visitation will held from 10:30am-noon Monday at the mausoleum. Military rites will conclude the service and entombment will follow. Deacon Lou Tomlianovich will officiate. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital, OSF Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice.
