Obituary WASHINGTON- Kenneth R. Morgan, 66, of Washington passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at 7:20AM at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Kenneth was born November 2, 1948 in Hornbeak, TN to Martin S. and Mary E. Goad Christian Morgan. He was also raised by his stepfather, Fred Lee Christian. He married Mary Amerman Norton on July 23, 1999 in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Jennifer Morgan of Chicago and Josh (Ally) Morgan of New York; his stepchildren, Angela Norton of California and Dan Norton of Washington, IL; three grandchildren, Joshua, Madelyn, and Sam; one sister, Gloria "June" Morgan of Peoria Heights; one brother, John (Debbie) Morgan of East Peoria; sister-in-law, Linda Drone of Peoria; and brother-in-law, Joe Amerman of Morton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather. As a child, Kenneth graduated from Greeley Grade School in Peoria. He then attended Woodruff High School in Peoria. Kenneth worked at Caterpillar in the KK building for the last 42 years (1973-2015). Kenneth was a member and former officer at the UAW Hall Local 974 in East Peoria. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 1:30PM at the UAW Hall in East Peoria. There will be a memorial visitation an hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter in Pekin.
