Obituary EAST PEORIA - Kenneth N. Decker, 77, of East Peoria, died at 7:50 am Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Washington Christian Village in Washington. Born on January 24, 1932 in Lenoir City, TN to Roy and Martha Wright Freels Decker, he married Anna M. Moke on March 25, 1960 in East Peoria. She survives. Kenneth will be greatly missed by his family including one daughter, Denise (Ignacio) Alverez of Santaquin, UT, and three sons, Don (Patti) Decker and Dennis (Linda) Decker, both of Washington, and Dan (Christy) Decker of East Peoria, 7 grandsons, Chris (Jo) Whrel and Michael Maalouf both of CA, Bill Whrel and Scott Maalouf, both of UT, Reese Decker of Dunlap, and Zachary and Troy Decker of East Peoria, 5 granddaughters, Kira Decker of Dunlap, Alicia, Amber, and Allison Decker all of Washington, and Katelyn Decker of East Peoria, and one great-granddaughter, Britney of CA, sisters by marriage, Doris (Gene) Fenwick and Betty (John) Walters,and a host of nieces and nephews including, Charlotte (William) Chaney of Marquette Heights, and Jack (Betty) Decker of TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, their wives, one niece and one nephew, five brothers in law, two sisters in law, and four nephews by marriage. Kenneth served one term with the Army National Guard and was called to active duty for one term from 1950-1959. Kenneth served as an East Peoria Fireman for 23 years, retiring in 1982. He later worked in Animal Control for the City of East Peoria until 1994. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in East Peoria for over 30 years. Kenneth loved people and had a fun sense of humor. Services for Kenneth will be at 10 am Friday, May 1, 2009 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in East Peoria. Pastor Fred Doughty will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Additional visitation will be from 9:15-9:45 am Friday at the church. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton, where military rites will be accorded by the US Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team. Memorials may be made to his church.
