Obituary
- Kelly Joel Patton, 47, of Waxhaw, NC and formerly of Washington, IL, lost his battle with cancer at 9:53 pm Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home in Waxhaw, NC.
Born on September 20, 1963 in Peoria, IL to Joel and Helen Robinson Patton, he married Michele Wheeler on March 10, 2000 in Albuquerque, NM. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Helen Patton of Morton, IL, his son, Hunter Joel Patton at home, 2 sisters, Carol (Lawrence) White of Germantown Hills, IL and Monica Patton of Morton, IL, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
Kelly was a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Recovery Room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for 10 years, where he last worked in 2006. He was a 1981 graduate of Washington Community High School in Washington and a 1993 graduate of Methodist Medical Center School of Nursing in Peoria.
He was a member of Riverside Community Church in Peoria. He also was an active volunteer for the Cancer Center for Health Living in Peoria, where he helped and supported others people with their cancer diagnosis.
Services for Kelly will be at 10 am Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Chris Spicer will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
