Kathleen Ann Parkhurst, 68, of Washington, passed away Monday April 8, 2019 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Kathy was born January 6, 1951 in Peoria to Theodore and Edna Powers Ochs. She married Stephen Hunter Parkhurst on September 11, 1971 in Peoria Heights; he preceded her in death on May 4, 2014. Surviving are their children, Stephen (Jodi) Parkhurst of Houston, TX, Christine Parkhurst (Mindy Bonner) of San Antonio, TX, Amanda Parkhurst (Eric Elam), and Samantha (Ravy) Than, both of Washington; grandchildren, Victoria, Isabell, Abigail, Ashton, Rowan, Bopah, Shawn, Nari, Hunter Rose, Soriya K., and Wyatt; step-grandchildren, Brittany, Brandy, Jade, and Jedediah; step-great-grandson, Felix; and brothers, David (Patricia) Ochs of Pontiac and Stephen (Phyllis) Ochs of Maryland. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bernadette. Kathy was a strong-willed, sassy, and funny woman. She passed her humor and strength on to her children, and loved being a mom and grandma. She attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm Friday, April 26, 2019 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
