Obituary Washington - Kathleen "Kathie" Irene Doering, 57 of Washington passed away at her home on November 9, 2011 at 5:05 PM. She was born to Robert W. and Evelyn Hursey Farrar on November 23, 1953 in Peoria. They preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were two sisters Mary Farley and Helen Kent and one brother Carl Seidel. She married Ron Doering on April 28, 1973 in Chillicothe. He survives. Also surviving are two sons Rich (Shelley)Doering of Racine, WI and Dan (Karen) Doering of Rochester, MN, one daughter Jennifer (Mike) Scheid of Bryson City NC, six grandsons and one granddaughter, one brother Jerry (Pam) Seidel of South Dennis, MA. A memorial service will be held at 4PM on Sunday November 13th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Richard Hanson will officiate. There will be a visitation from 2-4 before the service. Cremation has been accorded. Kathie was a 1971 graduate of IVC High School. She later worked for Clifton Gunderson in Accounts Payable for many years. She was active in the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the American Cancer Society for 7 years. She was a High School Choir Booster at Washington Community High School. Kathie was involved in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who deeply cherished and loved her family. Her pride in life was her family and she will be truly missed. Her love of family and friends was evident at all times. Kathie's memory will be cherished always. A constant encourager to others who struggled with cancer, Kathie was a fighter who never gave up.
