Obituary
WASHINGTON - Karen S. Wenzel, 59, of Washington, died at 2:15 am Saturday, October 27, 2007 at her residence.
She was born on March 7, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Adolph A. and Alice M. Pfister Wenzel.
Surviving are her mother, Alice M. Wenzel of Washington, 1 brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Wenzel of Manteno, IL, 2 sisters, Judith (Bobby) Milligan of East Peoria and Pamela Wenzel of Washington, 2 nieces, Katrina Henry, and Tamera Smith, 4 nephews, Brad and Bill Bornmann, Scott and Doug Wenzel, great- nieces, Nicole, Kristin, Alexandria, Brandi, and Brooke, Kaycie and Karli and great-nephews, Brandon, Ryan, Kyle, Jacob.
She was preceded in death by her father and 1 sister, Patricia Bornmann.
Karen was the Human Resource Manager at Peoria Kmart for 40 years until her illness wouldn't allow her to work anymore.
She loved Photography, visiting Colorado and the mountains, and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, who she loved as her own.
Karen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington.
A funeral mass will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. The Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, where recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:45 pm. Additional visitation will be from 9:30-10:00 am Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Peoria.
