Obituary WASHINGTON- Karen L. Sprenkle, 72, of Washington passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1:14 PM at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Karen was born April 23, 1942 to Harold Eugene and Wilma Martin Fangmeier in Peoria. She married Paul Sprenkle on June 14, 1980 in Washington. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Lori (Brad) Class of Grand Junction, CO, Daniel (Roxanne) Sutton of Washington, Jason (Rachel) Sprenkle of Washington, and Katie (Jeramie) Reatherford of Morrison; seven grandchildren, Brandon Class, Amanda Class, Jacob Sutton, Megan Sutton, Trenton Davis, Sarah Evans, Annalee Sprenkle; one great-granddaughter, Grace Sutton; two sisters, Jo Ann (Bob) Hardy of Ft. Worth, TX and Marsha (Kent) Heisel of Dunlap; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved pets, Sassy and Pretty Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Bill Ross. Karen graduated from Richwoods High School in 1960. She received her certification as a registered dietitian in 1998. She worked at many local nursing homes using her certification. Karen loved to read in her free time. She also enjoyed fishing, cooking, animals, and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America. A memorial service for Karen will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00AM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Jim Gorby will officiate. There will also be a memorial visitation two hours prior to the service at the funeral home, from 9:00AM-11:00AM.
