Washington Karen S. Hartter, 69, of Washington, passed away at 10:48 am Monday, Oct. 15, 2018 at Riverview Senior Living in East Peoria. She was born Dec. 28, 1948 in Peoria, daughter of Hubert and Francis Luther Lee. She married William "Bill" Hartter on June 14, 1968 in Indiana. He survives. Also surviving are three children, Kevin, Kurt (Tammy), and Amanda; three granddaughters who she adored, Makayla, Tawnee, and Emmy; and her brother, Bob Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents. Karen worked for the City of Washington before retiring. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Friday, Oct. 19th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Her funeral service will be at 11 am Monday, Oct. 22nd at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Washington with Pastor Dick Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude.
