Obituary Julie Petri Delzell, 63, of East Peoria, passed away at 8:41 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born August 19, 1951 in Peoria, IL to Roy G. and June Lindgren Petri. Surviving are her two sons, Eric Petri and Wade Delzell both of East Peoria; two sisters, Terry (Dennis) Paluska of East Peoria, Kim (Brice) Bain of East Peoria; uncle, William Lindgren of East Peoria; aunt, Eileen Lindgren of Champaign; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Julie worked as a nurse for 18 years at OSF St. Francis Medical Center on the neurology floor, then worked for 10 years at St. Joseph's Home until their closing, last working at Timber Creek Rehab in Pekin for 4 years until retiring. She was a single mother most of her life while raising her sons. She enjoyed fishing, watching movies and spending time with her family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Cancer Care or St. Francis Medical Center Oncology Department both in Peoria. Julie's Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria with Rev. Jim Barton officiating. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, one hour before the service. Inurnment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria at a later date.
