Obituary WASHINGTON-Judy Bailey, 95, of Washington, IL died at 11:13 AM Sunday, July 21, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on January 29, 1918 in Winters, CA to Edward G. and Mary E. Grigsby Wittner, she married Dr. David J. Bailey on December 23, 1939. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2010. She was also preceded in death by 4 siblings. Surviving are 4 children, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Judy was an active member of Knoxville Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church in Peoria since 1941. She was church treasurer for many years and also committed herself to other church ministries such as home visits and the church welfare center, along with many other works that reflecting God's love. Judy's many interests included gardening, bird watching and she enjoyed expressing herself artistically. She was also a talented seamstress and a great cook who held the secret of making the world's greatest apple pie. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Pastor Donald Lewis and Pastor Clarence Small will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
