Obituary

Obituary Juanita M. Harrington, 88, of East Peoria, passed away at 2:44pm, Friday, September 6, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Juanita was born May 30, 1925 in Akron, OH to Maxwell and Dorothy Cramer Schoonover. She married Charles Harrington August 3, 1946 in Akron; he preceded her in death on May 15, 2003. Surviving are her four children; Deborah (Michael) Gabor, East Peoria, Edwin (Becky) Harrington, Hackettstown, NJ, Timothy (RaLynda) Harrington, Clovis, CA, and William (Theresa) Harrington, Fresno, CA; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a brother, Jack (Nancy) Schoonover, Connecticut. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, and a sister, Maxine Fulton. Juanita grew up in Ohio and graduated from Hudson High School there, going on to attend Bowling Green University. She raised her family in California and worked for Cigna Insurance. She enjoyed traveling around the country with her family and spending time outdoors. After coming to Central Illinois, she became very active in her church. She enjoyed participating in the ACW women's group and in the activities at Riverview Senior Care. Above all, she loved her children. A Funeral Mass for Juanita will be celebrated at 11:00am, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew The Apostle in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Father Shawn Doubet will officiate. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Washington. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, Washington is assisting the family.
