Obituary
PEKIN-Joseph "Joe" E. Kramer, 33, of Pekin, IL, formerly of Washington, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at his residence.
Born on June 10, 1978 in Peoria, IL to Steven R. and Laurie J. Wilson Kramer, he married Alina Barnes on April 26, 2003.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Madison P. Kramer of Pekin and her future baby brother or sister; his parents, Steve and Laurie Kramer of Washington; 3 brothers, Courtland S. Kramer, Joshua W. Kramer, and Nathan G. Kramer, all of Washington; his fiance, Kristal Salter of Pekin; his grandfathers, Eugene Wilson and Earl Kramer, both of Washington; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Nancy Wilson and Phyllis Kramer, and his great-grandmother, Della M. Hagan, who was extra special to Joe.
Joe graduated from Washington Community High School in 1996, where he participated in many school musicals and played football. He was also involved in hockey and Boy Scouts. Joe was an avid St. Louis Blues and Peoria Riverman Fan. He was currently employed as a correction officer at Federal Correction Institution in Pekin where he also served on the Disaster Control Team. Joe previously served as a paramedic with AMT in Peoria and Pekin for 11 years, where he received several accommodations for patient care which was second to none. He was also an EMS training instructor and a volunteer fireman and paramedic with Cincinnati Fire Protection District in Pekin, IL. Joe's favorite pastimes were watching WWE Wrestling and Blues Hockey with his daughter, Madison.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
