Obituary Washington- Joseph Samuel Eller, 83, of Washington, IL passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at 12:20 p.m. at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Joe was born on April 3, 1928 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Delber and Grace McDonald Eller. He married Leonia "Nonie" Maye Bower on November 26, 1948 in Morgansfield, Kentucky. She survives him. Also surviving is a son, Ronald J. (Sally) Eller, Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Kimberly (Steve) Martin, Ty (Naomi) Eller both of Washington; Emmy (Jeremy) Crose, Cody (Amy) Irions both of Chillicothe and Jessi (Zack) Irions of Peoria; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother Don Eller, Texas; a sister Emma, West Virginia. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Eller and also a brother. Joe worked as lather for 50 years and was a member of the Local 36 Lathers and Carpenters Union. He drove stock cars at Havana, Mt. Hawley and Lincoln. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. Joe loved attending family outings and joining in family activities. Joe was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #100 and Navy and Marine Core Club. Honoring Joe's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. No services will be held. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.
