Johnna "Jo" G. Tallman, 80, of Peoria, passed away at 6:55 pm Sunday, January 31, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born November 14, 1940 in Bedford, Indiana. She moved to Peoria, Illinois when she was 4 and was raised by her late great-uncle and aunt, Thomas and Sadie Pearce. She graduated from Woodruff High School in 1958. Johnna worked in the Caterpillar Advertising office as a receptionist/secretary. While there, she met and later married Lee Tallman in Peoria on June 1, 1963. He preceded her in death in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Phillip. Surviving are one son, Jim (Jen) Tallman of Washington, IL; one daughter, Amy (Christopher) Summers of Peoria, IL; and three grandchildren, Jacqueline, Margaret and James Summers. Johnna was a homemaker and antique dealer. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, IL, and was active in the P.T.O. at Central Grade School in Washington, IL for 10 years. She loved dogs, big band music, and, most of all, her friends and family. Cremation has been accorded. Due to Covid-19 there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington Community High School Band (Washington, IL), the Grace Television Ministry of Grace Presbyterian Church (Peoria, IL) or the Tallman Family Endowed Scholarship at Bradley University (℅ Dr. David Vroman) (Peoria, IL).
