John R. Wood, 78, of Washington, passed away at 4:41pm Sunday, November 13, 2022 at his home.

John was born January 22, 1944 in Watseka to the late John H. and Nora E. Reeves Wood. He married Barbara A. Sturm on April 25, 1964 in Chicago.

Surviving are his wife Barbara; children, Robert Wood of Van Nuys, CA and Bobbi and (Chris) Mullis of Pekin; grandchildren, Cody (Jessica) Wood, Bryant Mullis, and Dalton Mullis; two nephews and one niece.

John grew up in Milford and went on to attend DeVry Technical Institute. He retired from Picker Corp., then was self-employed, working on x-ray machines and engineering cables for sound systems. He loved watching movies, listening to music, and classic cars.

His family will receive friends from 2-4:00pm Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in honor of his grandson Bryant, who was granted a wish.
