John Wisslead, 69, of East Peoria, passed away at 9:50am Monday, June 20, 2022 at Washington Senior Living in Washington, IL.

He was born July 13, 1952 in LaHarpe, IL to John Dale and Dorothy Louise McPeak Wisslead.  He married Theresa A. Carroll on May 1, 2001 in Gatlinburg, TN.  She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Dorothy; two children, Christopher J. Wisslead, Cynthia N. (Nathaneal) Custer; one step-daughter, Carrie Peterson; six grandchildren, Madison, Reagan, Kennedy, Brady, Rachel, Becca; one great-granddaughter, Freya; and two brothers, Jim (Pam) Wisslead, and Brad Wisslead.  He was preceded in death by his father.

John worked as an engineer at Fiskars, formerly LR Nelson.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.

Cremation has been accorded.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Stroke Foundation.
