Obituary
WASHINGTON - John Edward Roe, 70 of Washington, IL died at 3:38 pm Sunday, January 30, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
He was born on March 29, 1940 in Peoria, IL to Larry C. and Elizabeth I. "Betty" Youngman Roe.
Those left to honor his memory of daughters, Amy (Rick) Thompson and Julie Roe, 4 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Ronald (Loretta Roe of Martinsville, IN, Dewey Roe of Washington, IL, and Gary (Gina) Roe of Peoria, IL, 3 sisters, Judy Brooks and Nellie (Gary) Douglas, both of East Peoria, IL and Millie Lou (Bill) Moore of Davenport, IA, and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by a daughter, grandson, parents, and a sister.
He was a US Army veteran serving at Ft. Riley, KS. John enjoyed Nascar, baseball, and spending time with family. He also had a passion for country music and was once known as the fasted free hand engraver. We will all dearly miss his beautiful smile and free spirit. The family would also like to thank Sharon Willows South for their compassionate and loving care that they gave to John.
Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. The Rev. James Clark will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington, where military rites will be accorded.
