Obituary EAST PEORIA--John R. Reeves, 66, of East Peoria, died at 8:58 AM, on Friday, December 29, 2006 at his residence. He was born on January 14, 1940 in Peoria, Illinois to John L. and Frances L. Foster Reeves. He married Mary E. Carrison on June 2, 1963 in Canton, IL; she survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, John A. (Aprille) Reeves of Meridian, MS and Steven M. (Danelle) Reeves of East Peoria; 3 grandchildren Stephanie, Emma and Christopher Reeves. He was preceded in death by his parents. He served in the Army National Guard. John was currently a driver for Morton Auto in Morton, IL and had been a purchasing agent for Bergner's Dept. Store, owner of Welch Brothers Saloon and drove a school bus for District #309. A 32nd Degree Mason, John was a lifetime member of the Hilton Masonic Lodge #1143. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria, where he was a past Most Wise Master of the Chapter of Rose Croix. He had received his Meritorious Service Award Cap and was currently the Fraternal Secretary for the Four Presiding Bodies. John also was a Shriner belonging to the Mohammed Shrine Temple in Bartonville, where he was currently a member of the Dramads, a unit of Performing Artists. He was an avid bowler, having belonged to several bowling leagues. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. Rev. Michael W. Fender will officiate.Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Monday, January 1, 2007 at the funeral home Masonic services at 5:45PM. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL.
