John A. Musil, 90, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Pekin Manor.

He is survived by his niece and nephews: Dawn Musil of Chino Valley, AZ, John E. (Michele) Musil of Royse City, TX, Robert R. (Brenda) Musil of Ontario, OR, and Steven M. (Dawn) Musil of Pleasanton, CA, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen (Tuma) Musil, and his brothers, Robert J., Victor P., and Donald E. Musil

John was born May 14, 1936 in Wilber, NE. He entered the US Navy at 17; he saw the world by serving a "kiddie cruise" term. Upon his discharge, he enrolled in the University of Nebraska's engineering program. He went on to a long career in Peoria, retiring from Komatsu. He was a longtime, faithful member of the Paris Avenue church of Christ, serving as its treasurer for many years. He was loved by all the members of this congregation, and especially by the children.

A funeral service for John will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, Rick Liggin will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paris Avenue church of Christ.
